About us
We started Happy Straw as a project to find non-toxic, bio-degradable alternatives to plastic straws. Alternatives that will not impair your health, pollute the environment or endanger other species after being discarded. And bamboo straws appear to do exactly that.
Our bamboo is sustainably sourced out in Vietnam. Our whole production process does not involve any artificial glues, lacquers, bleaches or any other harmful chemical. It’s 100% natural and handcrafted by our artisans. We only harvest bamboo plants that have reached at least 3-meter height. By harvesting bamboo sustainably, we ensure that this amazing natural resource is not going to be depleted and at the same time we stimulate organic bamboo farming in the area.
As time goes by, more reusable straws (made of other materials) are added to our product list. We make sure that there are enough options to meet even the pickiest straw user’s need. At the moment, we offer a range of eco friendly reusable straws made of bamboo, stainless steel and borosilicate glass. But we are not going to stop here. We are constantly on the look out for new (natural) materials that can be used to replace those nasty plastic straws.
At Happy Straw we are passionate about fighting the battle against disposable plastic straws. We believe that a reusable straw is a small, yet a powerfully meaningful action you can take today as a way to say no to plastic straws. By choosing a reusable straw, you are cutting down hundreds of plastic straws from the already overflowing global waste pile.
We have two very clear goals:
- To raise awareness about the harmful impacts that plastics have on our health and our environment.
- To replace as many single – used plastic straws as possible with our eco friendly reusable straws.

Our Products
Bamboo
Our bamboo straws are made from 100% natural organically grown bamboo in Vietnam. No chemicals or harmful preservatives are used during production process. Pure organic bamboo is harvested, then washed, dried and hand cut into desirable length by our artisans. Bamboo is naturally antibacterial, anti-fungal and odour resistant.
Stainless Steel Straws
Our straws are made from food grade 304 stainless steel. They are very resistant to corrosion and made to last a life time. They are not bio-degradable but they do not need to be because you will not need to discard them. Just pass them on to your next generation.
Borosilicate Glass Straws
Stylish smooth and shatter-resistant glass straws made of borosilicate glass. The main ingredients of borosilicate are silica and boron oxide.
We had all our glass tested to verify the safety and toxin-free integrity of its composition. There is no lead or other harmful ingredients in the glass. Our glass is BPA-Free, Lead-Free and Toxin-Free.
Borosilicate has super durability being more resistant to breaking than other glass, and colours stay brilliant after each use and wash. Our glass straws can resist sudden change in temperature between -30 and 150 degrees Celsius without breaking. Kindly note that our glass straws might break if being dropped on a stone floor.
